Family Volunteering Fiji Project

adventure+ was excited to be part of the Family Volunteering Fiji 2017 project, donating numerous play components to help build the Rainbow Park at Namara Village School on Wayalailai Island.

Here’s what Family Volunteering Fiji had to say about the project:

We are very pleased to report that our Family Volunteering Fiji 2017 project was a great success.

Your support played a key role in helping our volunteers to deliver Rainbow Park to the children of Namara Village School on Wayalailai Island.

We constructed a play area next to the kindergarten, especially for the younger children, as well as the main playground suitable for all ages. We worked alongside community volunteers for a week while our children attended classes and engaged the students in learning and craft activities. The children, staff and community members of the island were overwhelmed with gratitude and provided an amazing, traditional celebration event to bless the playgrounds and express their gratitude.

Your donation of swings and playground accessories formed the basis for the kindergarten play area, and enabled us to build the island’s very first car! Many children had never been in a car, or on a swing before.

The project video produced by Family Volunteering Fiji can be viewed below. It’s great to see how simple play equipment can create so many smiles!

We wish the very best for the Family Volunteering Fiji in their future endeavours.
