Tywald Park

The playground at Tywald Park in New Norfolk, Tasmania was built as part of the Derwent Valley Council’s playground replacement program. adventure+ was engaged by the council to create an exciting and engaging playground for the local residents.

We carefully designed the playground to make it stand out. Height was an important element to achieve this. The tower stands at around 5 metres and from the top of the tower is a large spiral slide which is an absolute thrill for children of all ages!

The playground is made up of a combination of materials. While the main structure utilises our spectrum+ steel system, the tower also includes composite timber cladding and perforated picture sheet metal.

While the tower provides a great experience for older children there is also an area for juniors that includes a smaller slide and easily accessible play components. A good playground design not only caters to different ages but different interests. Having a variety of play elements is important. While some children enjoy the thrill of a slide, others like to swing on monkey bars or climb through a tunnel.

Our overall experience with adventure+ was positive and effective and the final product speaks for itself in regards to quality and design detail and I feel it will be a welcomed asset to the residents.
