Steps of a School Playground Upgrade

Step 1: Discovery – Site Visit

For almost every school or early learning centre project we are part of, we visit the proposed site.

On this site visit, we will assess the proposed site and take measurements. We will also take the time to understand your wishes and requirements and can even discuss ideas with other stakeholders. Associated works such as under surfacing and shade can also be discussed at this stage.

We aim to come away from the site with a detailed understanding of the best playground design for your school and the required play outcomes. This information is invaluable at the design stage and helps us achieve the best possible result for your school.

Step 2: Design – Create a Unique Solution

Unlike conventional playground companies, we create a tailored playground design that meets your school’s brief. This achieves a better outcome later and is offered free of charge.

Our designers will create a solution that suits your budget, site, and takes into account what your students and school wants, including customised colour schemes, themes, or specific play equipment.

There are many benefits to getting a custom made school playground:

• Get a playground that fits your budget exactly, and includes all of the most important elements for that budget.
• Get a playground that suits your site. Some sites have an awkward shape so an ‘off the shelf’ playground will leave dead spaces in the school ground, whereas a customised solution will make the most of every corner.
• Include the elements that you or your children want. You can create a wish list of all the equipment, such as a monkey bar or a climber, that you would like for us to incorporate into your design.
• Age appropriate. If your playground is for the senior students we will tweak the design to make sure it is challenging enough for them and the components are set at the right height.
• Provide the best traffic flow. With different entrances to the playground we will work out the best positioning of equipment to avoid accidents.
• Get the look and feel you want, such as the colour or cladding. You can even match the colours of the playground to surrounding buildings or the school logo.

As part of the design stage, we create 3D illustrations, plans and costings. This allows you to visualise your playground and share it with other stakeholders.

Our play consultants will explain the thought behind the playground design and will work with all stakeholders until it is exactly what the school wants.

Step 3: Delivery – Manufacturing & Installing the Playground

Upon approval of the proposal, the project moves into our local manufacturing facility. We manufacture our equipment here in Australia to ensure highest quality and no project delays.

Local installation crews complete the installation and associated works typically in a couple of days, depending on the size of the project.

After our certificate of practical completion, the playground will be ready for the children to start enjoying it!
