Striking Statement Tower Unit

Blenheim Road Park is a central place of gathering and recreation with high quality facilities set in a natural creek landscape. adventure+ worked closely with Hobsons Bay City Council in designing and manufacturing the playground equipment for the space. The concept was to upgrade the old playground into a revitalised, striking statement piece that would attract residents for decades to come. The key features of the new reserve facilities include an entry plaza with rain garden plantings and trees, two picnic areas, a sand pit, a climbing tower with climbing walls, two slides and a viewing platform, a forest walk along a tree-lined avenue, a meditation space and a unisex toilet facility.

Striking statement tower unit playground

Customised to stand out

This beautiful new playground has several different play elements incorporated into the design. The main structure is the large tower unit featuring a large curved tunnel slide and spiral slide.

The natural stained timber and green perforated steel panels suit the natural environment, whilst creating a vibrant and attractive atmosphere with the brightly coloured slide.

Considered play value

Appearance is essential; however, getting the design is equally essential to ensure children are engaged and challenged. Balancing more challenging items like the surrounding rock climbing elements suited to senior children with activity panels on the lower level for juniors was vital to the success of the design.

This beautiful new park will be a great space for local residents and visitors to meet, share a picnic, enjoy the new play equipment and climbing tower, go for walks or simply enjoy some quiet reflection time.
