High-impact playground within a council budget
A diverse range of play elements, carefully matched to key developmental outcomes, is essential in creating a successful playground. At Burwood Reserve, the wide variety of equipment is what truly sets this space apart. Catering to different ages and abilities, the playground incorporates a multi-play unit, turnover bars, monkey bar, trampoline, community swings, interactive play panels and a modular rope structure, ensuring every child can find engaging and challenging play experiences.

The senior play tower is a striking centrepiece constructed using the robust, steel-based spectrum+ system, delivering an impressive height that appeals to older children seeking greater challenge. It incorporates a twisting tube slide, double slide, rock climbing wall, interactive play panels, a shop counter, an inclined catwalk bridge and a fireman’s pole, providing diverse and engaging play experiences.

The playground has been carefully designed to create an inviting, vibrant atmosphere, combining warm, bright colours with a playful balance of steel and timber elements. Aqua and purple highlights provide a cheerful contrast and strengthen the overall visual impact of the space. The combination of rubber and mulch undersurfacing further enhances the aesthetic while contributing to a comfortable, compliant and safe environment for children to play and explore. This cohesive design approach makes the play space an attractive, welcoming destination for families.

This project includes a spectrum+ special design play unit that utilises powdercoated steel as the main structural element.
