Large play space including combination units, a rope structure, trampolines and numerous swings and rockers
The landscape architect, Joanne Green from Beveridge Williams put a lot of thought into the layout of the space, ensuring that both junior and senior children where catered for, and that parents enjoyed the park just as much as the children. A wide concrete path surrounds the play area and cuts through the centre of the space, separating the playground into junior and senior sections. adventure+ used their design capabilities to ensure that all equipment was age appropriate.
One of the most striking features of the playground is the bright, vibrant and attractive colours. Colours were carefully coordinated to match with the rubber undersurfacing and nearby shelters. To add an architectural feature and to suit the style of the shelters, the playground uprights were extended through the roofs.
The play space includes a vast range of an equipment, including two spectrum+ steel play units, one which joins to a huge pinnacle+ rope structure via a rope bridge, a Gyro multidirectional swing and several types of rockers. Something for everyone!
This project includes a spectrum+ special design play unit that utilises powdercoated steel as the main structural element.
