Three new playground all designed for younger children
Areas 2 & 3 were designed with the needs of toddlers and young children in mind. The playground features low-level access elements, ensuring that even the youngest of adventurers can easily explore and play. These play areas also boast a range of interactive elements that will captivate young minds and keep them engaged for hours on end. From stimulating interactive panels to a sensory multi-user rocker and swings, there’s something for every child to enjoy.
Whether they’re climbing, sliding, or simply discovering new textures, this playground guarantees a fun and inclusive experience for all. Parents can rest easy knowing that their little ones are playing in a safe and stimulating environment while the children themselves are free to let their imaginations run wild.
Area 1 of these three new play spaces is specifically tailored to cater to children aged 3 to 5 years old, ensuring that they have a safe and enjoyable playtime. What sets this playground apart from the others is its slightly more challenging elements, which are carefully designed to help children develop their physical and cognitive skills. From climbing activities to balance beams, the Area 1 playground offers a unique and engaging experience for young minds. Children can explore and conquer new heights, all while having fun and making new friends.
The new playgrounds at Quantin Binnah Community Centre are a remarkable example of innovative design and construction. One of the most striking features of this playground is the use of timber as the main structural element across all three areas. This choice not only adds an organic and natural aesthetic to the playground, but also provides durability and strength. To ensure the maximum longevity of the timber, a steel stirrup system has been cleverly employed, preventing the timber from making direct contact with the ground. This innovative approach not only enhances the overall safety of the playground but also allows for easy maintenance and longevity. The combination of timber and steel in the playground’s design creates a harmonious balance between nature and modernity, offering children a unique and captivating play experience.
This project includes a symmetry+ special design junior play unit that utilises white cypress timber as the main structural element with steel stirrups on the main uprights.
