Overview
Community consultation was at the heart of the design plans for this play space in Sunbury. One of three local parks which have benefited from an upgrade, the Roger Free Park is intended to provide a range of play opportunities.
Sunbury, Vic
Client: ACLA & Hume City Council
Play space with neutral earthy coloured play equipment.
Locals indicated that they wanted balancing and climbing equipment, as well as traditional swings and slides.
The result was a thoughtfully designed play space with a host of different features, created in a neutral, earthy palette in order to blend with the trees and open space which surrounds it.
How was this natural look achieved without the use of timber? From first glances, you may not realise that this playground is constructed from our spectrum+ range using steel as the main material. Being a manufacturer allows adventure+ to customise the playground colours to suit almost any situation. In this case, a powder coat colour was used that mimics the textured, rustic and distinctive appearance of corten steel.
The equipment provides stimulating play opportunities for children of all ages, offering a safe, attractive environment that also gives youngsters the chance to move!
