Overview
Designed by MDG Landscape Architects in conjunction with adventure+, the Tullamore Estate play space, is the primary play space within the new Tullamore Estate in Doncaster, Victoria. Located only 13km from Melbourne’s CBD, this estate, which was previously Eastern Golf Course, is a highly sought after location that required a quality, architectural style to suit the surroundings.

Large custom two tone timber play unit located in Doncaster, Vic
The designers made careful decisions to include a combination of both fixed, structured play as well as natural play elements. The structured play element is a huge play tower, standing at around 5 metres tall and incorporating a slide coming from its highest platform. Linking to the tower is a variety of other ‘kid favourite’ play elements like net climbers and tunnels.
Using the symmetry+ system enabled the client to achieve the architectural appearance they desired, featuring two tone timber stain and long timber infill panels.
The tower style has a hint of a bird hide or treehouse with timber battening accentuating the height and verticality of the tower. A limited and subdued colour palette is utilised so as not to overwhelm the natural colours of the landscape.
Also included in the play space is a rope and natural log play structure and a log forest. Designed by the Landscape Architect, adventure+ helped facilitate the installation. Not only does the timber and rope combination with stainless steel straps around the timber look great, but also provides play elements that challenge all age groups.
A great place space with something for everyone!
adventure+ were helpful throughout the process and accommodating and flexible with our custom design requirements.
