Overview
adventure+ worked closely with the City of Monash to create this playground at Garnett Street Reserve. This new community playground has striking aesthetics and provides everything needed to maximise learning and development outcomes for children of this community.

Natural, yet contemporary style hybrid playground
Though this play space is relatively small, it includes a lot that makes it a real attraction to the local community. The space features a spectrum+ hybrid play unit with a rope bridge, two slides, rock wall and other activities. The use of timber guardrail verticals and bright red uprights, combined with multi-coloured blue rubber undersurfacing gives the space an exciting aestetic.
Special consideration was taken when deciding on the colour scheme for this playground. The client wanted it to be vibrant but also requested that it featured some natural elements to blend with the beautiful landscape around.
Like all playgrounds we design, we take a serious approach to ensure that the equipment design provides maximum engagement and learning opportunities for children. This play unit is a multi-age playground, with one-half of the unit suited for juniors and the other half for senior children. Play elements such as panels and easy access were incorporated for junior children, while the designers included more challenging aspects with more verticality for senior children.
This project includes a spectrum+ hybrid special design play unit that combines the beauty of timber with the strength of steel.
