Revitalising a community playground

A refurbishment is exactly what the Gembrook Leisure Park needed. The old wooden playground had served its purpose well, but had seen better days. adventure+ was called on by the Cardinia Shire to make the refurbishment became a reality, not just a dream.

Large play space with a mining theme that includes striking tower structures

Equipment full of fun & character

The new playground is fun, inviting, and full of character. The swings, flying fox, trampoline and tower structure provide so much fun and enjoyment for all age groups. Standing out is the giant rope climbing structure, which is a major draw card for the playground. Children spend hours on the climbing pyramid, challenging their agility and strength and allowing them to let their imaginations run wild.

Small details, big difference

The play unit has a ‘mine’ theme, reflecting the several historic mines surrounding the area. The name of the local mines – ‘Beenak Mine’ and ‘Silverwells Mine’ are engraved on timber panels to represent mine entrances.

An important factor was to ensure that some of the older, familiar features were left intact. The iconic red train and wooden men remain as they were, which is vital for the local families, as it still feels like home. The council and residents were thrilled with the hugely successful outcome.
