Overview
Shadowed by huge eucalyptus trees and surrounded by grassland, this play space in the Grandvue Estate called for a natural-looking playground. Using the symmetry+ timber style playground enabled the team involved to achieve the desired natural look.

A natural playground for a natural setting
It’s not all good looks though. With the play unit, special consideration was given to cater for all age groups. While one cluster on the combination unit provides for senior children with more challenging access play elements, the other is more accessible for juniors. Age-appropriate equipment is critical to ensure a playground is fun, safe and provides appropriate development opportunities.
The play space includes a natural timber modular rope structure and a swing frame. Natural elements such as logs and rocks also provide a challenging play element and connection between play activities.
A lot of time and resource goes into play space design. Factors from childhood development to public space maintenance all need to be considered. Need advice? Contact one of our playground consultants.
This project includes a symmetry+ special design play unit that utilises white cypress timber as the main structural element.
