Overview
The Quarters Estate Stage 4 Reserve, designed by Nicholas Rose and Soren Inglis of Urban Edge Landscape Architects, is the first of four local neighbourhood parks to be constructed within the Quarters Estate for PEET in Melbourne’s south eastern suburb of Cranbourne.
Cranbourne West, Vic
Client: Urban Edge Landscape Architects
Large custom combination unit located in Quarters Estate, utilising various construction materials.
The park is located opposite a future primary school site, and as a result, the overriding concept for the play space was to create a playground for multiple age groups and physical abilities that would provide a wide variety of interaction, interest and height variance within a bright and colourful linear unit.
The unit was designed with several levels, with different experiences and elements located on each of these levels. The different heights allow for a wide range of play elements to be incorporated while catering for a range of age groups and abilities. The bright yellow slide provides a colourful feature and dedicated areas of bright red rubber soft fall allows access for all abilities.
The playground unit offers tremendous value for money as it provides something for everyone – a range of activities and elements, and has proven a hit with residents and prospective buyers.
This project includes a spectrum+ hybrid special design play unit that combines the beauty of timber with the strength of steel.
