Overview
Set at the centre of Aldercourt Primary School, the new school playground is a great example of the symmetry+ timber style of equipment. Utilising White Cypress as the main structural material, but with brightly coloured steel components, it provides a natural feel, and yet creates a fun atmosphere.

A natural themed playground that blends in with the surrounding environment.
As children have different interests and abilities, we have included a large variety of play activities in this playground. Conforming to good design principles, we have included refuge areas under the play unit to allow children to move freely and avoid collisions and injuries.
The two large play clusters have skillion roofs that provide shade and are joined by an array of challenging activities, including Hanging Rings, Monkey Bar and a Track Ride.
The playground was specially designed to fit within the designated space. Difficult to achieve with an off-the-shelf playground, customising the design allowed the school to make the most of the available space and still comply with the Australian Standard.
The subtle design details, including the age-appropriate design and the natural materials used work together to make such an engaging playground.
This project includes a symmetry+ special design junior play unit that utilises white cypress timber as the main structural element with steel stirrups on the main uprights.
